DINO Spring Tune-up is a warm-up for race season, or a low-pressure chance for new riders to decide if they are ready to race. It's a race with no frills (no awards or series points). The course will be marked until about noon for a 6-mile DINO Trail Run; after noon the course will be changed to access the entire 7-mile trail system. Intro riders and 10& under Juniors will complete 1 lap; Base, Clydesdale, & Juniors11-18 2 laps; Sport 3 laps, and Expert 4 laps.
There is no pre-registration for this race - in case of extreme weather cancellation the race will not be re-scheduled. Call the DINO Hotline at (317-336-7553) prior to your trip to the race site!
Entry fee is just $20 at the race for Intro, Junior, Clydesdale and Base, and $25 for Sport and Expert. No racing license is required. If you purchase a season pass for the DINO Mountain Bike Series, your entry in the DINO Spring Tune-up is FREE!
Pre-riding is available after noon to 2pm on Saturday, or anytime Friday evening. The DINO Trail Run -http://www.dinoseries.com/run - takes place from 9 to 11 am on the trail system.
Muscatatuck Park offers a variety of activities and opportunities that include trail running, mountain biking, rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, camping, fishing, and more - this is the place to be for Indiana outdoor enthusiasts!
Camping: Onsite primitive camping is just $1 per person adjacent to race site - pay DINO at registration or self-pay station at campground entrance. No reservations needed. Hookups also available in the designated campground, call 812-346-2953 to reserve.
Directions: North Vernon is halfway between Madison and Columbus IN. From the center of North Vernon (SR 7 and US 50), go south on SR 7 one mile, watch for the park entrance on the right just before crossing the river. View Map
