CARRIED BY EACH PERSON AT ALL TIMES:

Backpack
- Chem Light
- Emergency Space Blanket
- Extra Socks
- Food and Water
- Hydration Bladder or Bottles (minimum 70 oz capacity)
- Headlamp or Flashlight (w/extra batteries)
- Whistle
CARRIED BY ONE TEAM MEMBER AT ALL TIMES:
- Compass
- Duct Tape (minimum 5')
- First Aid/ Safety Kit: Bandages, antibiotic ointment, electrolyte tablets
- Knife (minimum 3" blade)
- Lighter or Waterproof Matches
- Pencil, Marker, and Crayon
- Plotting Tool for UTM Coordinates on 1:25,000
(Example)
- Sunscreen
- Waterproof Map Case
- Water purifier (Iodine Tablets or Filter)
WHILE CYCLING (EACH TEAM MEMBER)
- Bicycle
- Helmet
- Front Light (w/ extra batteries)
- Rear Red Flashing Light (w/ extra batteries)
- Inner Tube
WHILE CYCLING (ONE PER TEAM)
- Tire Repair Kit: patches, tire levers, and pump
- Tools: 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8mm Hex Wrenches; Pedal Wrench; Small Philips & Straight Screwdrivers
WHILE CLIMBING / ROPES
*You will not be told when or where ropes events are – therefore you should be prepared to carry ropes gear at all times.
- ATC (descending device)
- Carabiners (3) - one must be locking
- Chest Harness or 1" webbing loop (used as a figure-8 chest harness… a loop of 7-8' recommended)
- Climbing Harness
- Cordelette: 8' of 5-8 mm cordelette (static rope, tied into a loop for prussic knot safety purposes)
- Gloves (full finger, leather work gloves recommended)
- Helmet (Bike helmet OK)
- Sewn Runner, daisy chain, or 1” webbing loop (8' loop)
NOTE: Minimum requirement is one set of these items per team. By carrying one set per person, your team will move through the ropes sections much faster. If your team is sharing any climbing gear you must also carry 200' total of any type rope 3mm (1/8") or larger.
WHILE PADDLING
- Paddles (canoe or kayak paddles OK) – we will have a limited number of paddles if you do not have your own.
- PFD (lifejacket) – we will have plenty of PFD’s if you do not have your own.
Boat will be provided
