2008 PRIMERICA DINO MOUNTAIN BIKE SERIES Race 2 -
Sunday, June 1, 2008 "Kentuckiana Championship" DINO has been welcomed back by Brown County State Park after a successful first visit last year. Brown County has established itself as a premiere riding destination! The course is extremely well designed, very scenic, and includes plenty of challenge. Our course contains quite a bit of climbing, but all at rideable grades The Intro and Beginner Women's category skip the most difficult portion of the course. Within this, Indiana's most popular state park, there are amenities such as swimming pool, campground, nature center, lodge / restaurant, cabins, horse riding, hiking, and much more. The prior day, May 31, DINO hosts the Vasque DINO Trail Run Series 15k and 5k footrace on the same trail system. This race is the 2008 Kentickiana Championship. It's a friendly and simple state vs. state competition: Indiana vs. Kentucky. The overall top-three ranking riders in each of four divisions, men and women, will receive the points toward the Kentuckiana Championship title: Pro 12;11;10 Expert 9;8;7 Sport 6;5;4 Beginner 3;2;1. The day's fastest rider will receive the trophy, to be kept until the 2009 championship (the location will swap from Indiana to Kentucky each year). Brown County State Park 's North Entrance is on SR 46 on the east side of Nashville . It is clearly labeled with brown highway signs. The race start/finish/registration is near the swimming pool just inside the North entrance. (If you have an RV, you'll need to use the West entrance, on SR 46 west of Nashville ).
