COURSE:
The Tecumseh Trail Marathon course provides a scenic and challenging route in Morgan-Monroe and Yellowwood State Forests. A major portion of the 40-mile Tecumseh Trail is used for the race course. Participants will be shuttled by bus from the Yellowwood Lake area to the starting line, near the Morgan-Monroe State Forest office.
The trail surface varies from narrow forest trail to wide fire road, gravel, dirt, and paved roads. Several up and downhills of 200-300’ elevation are along the course, along with many smaller hills. The total ascent is approximately 3500’. See the elevation profile for more information.
Participants may run or walk, but must maintain a 17 minute per mile average through the hilly terrain. Participants reaching the north trailhead at Yellowwood Lake (approx. mile 23) after 4:30 pm will be escorted off the route and to the shelter. The field will be limited to 700 runners due to logistics. Please Note: Dogs are not permitted on the course.

CUSTOM FINISHER MEDALS (OPTIONAL):
Attractive, custom-made finisher medals are available from Indiana's Excellence. The medal will have your name plus your choice of finish time or age group placing. These medals are $8 and will be mailed to you within three weeks after the Tecumseh Trail Marathon. You may order a medal when you register, or order at the race check-in. Finisher medals are not available for the Fun Run.
ENTRY FEE:
Marathon: $60 before Nov 1. $70 After Nov 1.
No entries accepted on race morning.
Yellowwood Lake Fun Run: $10 before Dec 2. $15 on race weekend.

10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
YELLOWWOOD LAKE FUN RUN:
A low-key event for family & friends of marathoners... or those not yet ready to tackle the marathon distance! The course is a trail loop of approximately 5.5 miles around the Yellowwood Lake Trail, finishing along the same route as the marathon. The cost is only $10, but there are no awards or, t-shirts. Results will be posted, and aid stations are available.

From State Road 46, 10 miles east of Bloomington or 7 miles west from Nashville. Follow Yellowwood Road for 2 miles to the campground / shelter house.Map to Course

Our host hotel is A Summerhouse Inn (800-371-0934) offering rooms at $59/night and conveniently located on the East side of Bloomington. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What kind of shoes?
We recommend trail running shoes, but regular running shoes will work.
Will my feet get wet?
Stream crossings are generally passable with careful stepping / jumping. If there is significant rain prior to race day, you will get wet!
Can I pick up my number/packet at the start?
Please don't plan on this. We arrive just minutes prior to start time and begin the race quickly. There's also very limited parking area. Plus, there's no post-race shuttle back to the start.
Where is the closest lodging?
The race is east of Bloomington on highway 46. A Summerhouse Inn, a sponsor of the race, is one of the closest available. Travelodge is about another mile to the east on 3rd Street.
What about camping?
Yellowwood (primitive) wil be open, you can register when you arrive on race weekend.
Will there be aid stations?
Every 2-3 miles, with water, gatorade, snacks (i.e. pretzels, bananas, cookies, trail mix, etc)
Will I get a finisher medal?
Only if you order one ($8).
What is the refund policy?
If you cannot attend, we can do one of the following if you notify us one week prior to race day:
-Transfer to the next year's race
-Refund your entry minus $10 service charge
-Transfer your entry to another runner with $10 service charge. Please send new participant's data on the official form along with $10. We must also receive an e-mail or other verifiable document from the registered participant.
-No refunds, transfers, or exchanges will be made on or after race weekend.
How difficult is it really?
It is rather challenging. That's exactly why it sells out each year... don't delay!
