SRAM DINO MOUNTAIN BIKE SERIES

Race 1 - Saturday, May 19, 2018
Warsaw, IN - Winona Lake Trail

 **Rain or shine!**

PARKING UPDATE (5/18,6pm) for tomorrow's race: As a precaution to avoid damage to the parking field, Fat & Skiny Tire Festival is moving DINO race parking to Grace College's Miller Athletic Complex. This is about a 1/2 mile ride via the greenway (westward) over to Winona Lake Mountain Bike Trails. Please plan your route accordingly.
It is possible that parking at the race field may be available again, depending on rainfall and forecast tomorrow morning. We'll update our hotline, twitter, and Facebook first if that happens.
Currently, trails are a little wet. They do drain very well however, due to sandy soils. Based on current conditions and forecast we expect a mostly solid ride with some puddles and slick spots.

Online Registration has closed. Race day registration is open from 8 am through your race start time on Saturday at the race site.

Difficulty rating: Hills: 2 / Surface: 2 (1=easy, 5=difficult)

Odds of weather related postponement: <10%

Start off the season again this year at Winona Lake! This fun and flowing circuit of about 10 miles first became a series stop in 2001 and has been a favorite course ever since.

This race is part of the annual Northern Indiana Fat Northern Indiana Fat & Skinny Tire Festival, which includes road bike events, kids events, demos, entertainment, seminars, and much more. Involvement from the community is second to none at Winona Lake , and there are plenty of non-cycling activities for families and friends to see and do.

Camping: Onsite primitive camping is available. No reservations are needed; a small donation is requested. Portable toilets and a water source are available.

Directions: Winona Lake is about an hour west of Fort Wayne . Take US 30 to the East side of Warsaw. Turn South / West on Center St. (Bob Evans at this intersection). Proceed for 2 more lights on Center and turn left on to Argonne Rd. Go to the stoplight, under the viaduct and straight through the intersection. The road becomes Park Ave. Follow Park Ave through the village of Winona Lake. View Map. View Map

Continue past the city park on the right, cross over a bridge, to the next road on the left (Boys City Dr .) Follow Boys City Drive to the main entrance of the (former) Boys Club.

Trail Map  In 2018, the course will go counter-clockwise ("front" side normal, "back" side backward)

NOTE: This is a "rain or shine" venue. We'll race no matter the weather / trail conditions.

RACE AWARDS will be held at 3pm in the Festival Tent (in the Village, about a mile from the race site).

Mountain bikers can continue the fun with a MTB division 4-cross race on the Hire Park BMX track at 5pm Saturday.
