This event is designed to be a warm-up for race season, or a low-pressure chance for new riders to decide if they are ready to race. It's a short race with no frills (no awards or series points). The 3-mile course contains a mix of wide, easy trail and narrow singletrack. There are some technical sections and a few hills. Intro riders will complete 1 lap; Beginners, Clydesdale, & Juniors 2; Sports 3, and Experts 4 laps.
There is no pre-registration for this race - it's subject to cancellation due to wet weather and will not be rescheduled. Call the DINO Hotline at (317-336-7553) prior to your trip to the race site!
Entry fee is $15 at the race for Intro, Junior, Clydesdale and Beginner, and $20 for Sport and Expert. If you are not a NORBA member, add $5.
Pre-riding is available after 11AM to NOON Saturday, or anytime Friday evening.
HMBA INTRO RACING CLINIC:
Want to learn how to race? Skills, techniques, strategies, training, and more will all be explained in a FREE hands-on clinic Friday evening (April 21) at 6PM. Members of the PPFI Racing Team will provide a fun and useful introduction to the sport, just in time for the Intro division race the following day. Keep in mind, your first Intro race is also free! Directions: Avon is just west of Indianapolis, between Brownsburg and Plainfield. Go west on US36, 1.3 miles past SR 267. Turn left on County Road 575 E. Turn left again into the park.
