GENERAL TRAIL RUN INFORMATION WHAT IS A DINO TRAIL RUN?? DINO Trail Run races take you through some of the most scenic and challenging trails in central Indiana. You’ll face a variety of challenges on the trail; such as rocks, roots, hills, sometimes mud and stream crossings. Choose your distance: 5k (3.1 miles) or 15k (9.3 miles). (Distances may vary by +/- 5% due to the nature of the terrain and layout restrictions.) The DINO Trail Run Series is now in its sixth season. Come find out why more and more runners call themselves “DINO Trail Runners” - sign up for your nearest venue, or go for the entire series with a season pass. Difficulty levels vary - see course descriptions and ratings. In addition to the fun of the event, many runners find trail running to be much gentler on the body than pounding the pavement. With your entry, you will receive: Spectacular trails, great competition, quick results, quality awards, race commentary, Clif product (Shot, Shot Bloks, or Bar), goodies from other sponsors, bib number, water, sports drink, post-race snacks, door prizes, and more. DINO Trail Run shirts are made from dri-release (you may want to wear them for running) and cost just $10. AGE CLASSIFICATIONS: Age 0-9; 10-12; 13-15; 16-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 74-79; 80+ SCHEDULE FOR ALL DINO TRAIL RUNS: Subject to minor changes. Note to out-of-state runners: Unlike recent years, Indiana will observe Daylight Savings in 2006. All races will be Eastern time. 7:00AM     Registration Opens 8:30AM     Registration Closes 9:00AM     15K Start 9:10AM     5K Starts 11:00AM     Award Ceremony AWARDS: Overall top three and masters (40+), men and women, in each distance will receive plaques and / or merchandise provided by sponsors. Runners beyond these top spots, who place top three in any age category, will receive plaques. Door prizes will be presented at random at the award presentation. Prizes are provided by DINO Sponsors. SERIES POINT SYSTEM: Points are awarded at each race based on overall finish position within your chosen distance and gender. Each runner’s top five point scores will be added for the series total. Runners must enter at least four DINO Trail Runs are eligible for series awards. From each distance, overall series awards will be presented, based on these point standings. 24 Pyro Apparel DINO Champion singlets will be presented to the top overall finishers. Distribution will be proportional to the number of contenders in each distance / gender division. A medal or similar award will be presented to the top finisher in each age group beyond the singlet winners. POINTS: Points are awarded as follows, per event, per distance, by gender: 1st place: 200 points 2nd place: 199 points and so on. MEGA-SAURUS SPECIAL AWARD: Accumulate the most total points combined from the DINO Trail Run Series and DINO Mountain Bike Series (100 point bonus for participation in a special event) to win the MEGA-SAURUS awards! TEAMS COMPETITION: Put together up to five runners - your family, your friends, your training partners, your company... and register as a DINO Team! A little team pride adds fun and excitement to racing the series. Your best 3 point scores from each race are added to create a team standing. DINO offers Dri-release fabric series shirts. These shirts perform well enough you will want to train and possibly race in them. The cost is $10 (not included in the entry fee).
