DINO Trail Running Newsletter 04-30-02 Contents: RUNNERS GAIN JUMP START ON SERIES POINTS DINO TRAIL RUN SERIES RETURNS TO NEW CASTLE 2002 DINO TRAIL RUN SERIES SCHEDULE OTHER UPCOMING CROSS COUNTRY / TRAIL RUNNING RACES ANNOUNCEMENTS ##### RUNNERS GAIN JUMP START ON SERIES POINTS On a course full of crazy ups and downs and turns, runners enjoyed dry trails just in time. The rain began to fall during the awards presentation. The rain soaked and flooded the trail for the following day's DINO Mountain Bike Series races. A smaller attendance rewarded Saturday's runners with good opportunities to win series points and door prizes. Many runners chose to rest up for the Mini-Marathon a week later. The 15k race was led from the start by Doug McCullough of Indianapolis, who finished the 9.9 mile course in 1:01:16. Indy Runners' Mark Doctor was a couple minutes back in second, with Russ Goodman of Bloomington rounding out the top three. Allen Bell took the Master's title in the 15k. Nita Martens of Columbus ran to first for the women's 15k (1:18:29), with Emily Thompson of Carmel and Amanda Wittman of Indianapolis taking second and third. 5k races were topped by Robb Awe, Gerald Emerson, then Christopher Sinnett - all within 40 seconds of Awe's 18:06 finish. Cindy Moll edged out Linda Pfohl for the women's 5k win by 14 seconds. Master's winners were Trent Sinnett and Barb Stayton.
