NEW INFO for the MISSION

We're excited about our new venue at Brush Creek Park Campground. The family-friendly campground offers activities such as mini-golf, swimming pool, and more. An excellent rock band with local roots returns from Nashville TN. The band The Early Evening will play as the race concludes and we move into the midnight celebration and awards.

We strongly recommend camping on site ($15 per site per night - no reservation needed). If you want full hook-ups, please reserve now at 812-767-1099 for $25 per night.

And yes, there's an adventure race!

What's new for 2006? The course. The majority of the course will be properties and roads not visited in past years. We'll keep the variety high, changing modes of transportation frequently.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How many miles will each discipline cover?
There is no answer because the routes you choose greatly affects distance and because faster teams will cover much more distance in the 18 hour window. Expect to divide your time somewhat equally between these four activities: Biking, Trekking, Paddling/water, Ropes/special challenges/TA.

Please review the gear list. This year we strongly suggest bringing your own paddles.

The most commonly asked questions on our gear list are:

1) 500' of small rope: Your team ONLY needs this if you are lacking any of the other gear on the ropes gear list. The 500' of small rope allows you to pass gear to your teammate waiting on the other end of the rope. If you have ALL the ropes gear, you do not need this 500' of rope.

2) Cordelette Loop for Prusik:
Here is a step-by-step instruction on how to tie your loop (we recommend the Double Fisherman's Knots): HERE
And how to tie the prussik: HERE

3) Chest Harness or 1" webbing loop: Here's an example of how to make your own chest harness with a webbing loop.

2006 Indiana AR Championship Point Series

This series adds the best two "long" race scores + the best two "short" race scores from Indiana's premiere adventure races.

"Long" races are the first three; 24 HOTM, Planet Adventure, and MISSION. If your team has already done one of these and plans to do the MISSION, you've got a good shot.

"Short" races are those in June-September.

You must register a "core" team of two people, with third/fourth teammates able to swap in and out. Choose one of three divisions: Co-ed, Male, or Female.
