Bloomington Course Ready to Rock
The course is set for the June 3 DINO Trail Run Series Race #3! DINO returns to Bloomington's Wapehani Park for the first time since 2002.
The course is minimally marked for those who would like an early look at the route. Follow yellow ribbons on trees, beginning in the gravel parking area. Look to the left for the start. The race is 2 laps for 15k, and the 5k cut off is about 2.5 miles into the course. After a long downhill straight toward the lake, 5k turns left and 15k turns right. The two rejoin on the other side of the lake.
It is a good course for spectators to watch. It's a fairly demanding race course with plenty of hills and tight trail.
Directions: From SR37, take the 2nd St. exit and proceed east 1/3 mile. When you see a large softball complex to the left, look for Weimer Rd on the right. Turn South (right) on Weimer for 1/2 mile to jog in the road. Turn right onto Wapehani Road. Race-weekend parking is in a grass field immediately on the left. Please do not park on Wapehani Road or on Weimer Rd.
You can save by pre-registering (by Wednesday, May 31).
