DINO Trail Running Newsletter 06-04-02 Contents: WANDERING "THE DARK SIDE" AT IMAGINATION GLEN DINO TRAIL RUN AT NORTH VERNON PART OF INDIANA USA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP 2002 DINO TRAIL RUN SERIES SCHEDULE OTHER UPCOMING CROSS COUNTRY / TRAIL RUNNING RACES ANNOUNCEMENTS ##### WANDERING "THE DARK SIDE" AT IMAGINATION GLEN While 5k winner Trent Sinnett was cruising his way to his first DINO victory, the 15k runners were navigating the relentless twists and turns of "the Dark Side" - the back half of the course, which proved to be a disorientating experience for some. Sinnett, running in the "Front Side" of Portage's Imagination Glen Park, finished first in 19:12. Had his son Christopher not been running in the state championship, the results may have differed. Second and third was a one second difference between Steve Schmidt and Eric Schildbach. Lane Rogers and LeAnn Rhodes were first and second women, at 26:10 and 26:26 respectively. In the 15k, a few of the lead men lost their way near an infamous section of trail called "the logjam". After much consultation, the winner was declared to be Jerry Proctor of Valparaiso. Scott Pederson and Jeffrey Emmons rounded out the top three. The women's 15k was won by DINO's own Amanda Holzhausen (1:17:08), with Sue Brown of the Calumet Striders taking second and Lori Minnerick claiming third. Special door prizes were awarded, including Rudy Project sunglasses and a Nike Triax Inspire heart rate monitor / watch. Bob Sunman was the lucky first pick winner and claimed the HRM.
