The park essentially lies in the floodplain of White River, and criscrosses a 10-20' levee multiple times. Some rain the night before made these short steep hills quite challenging. John Poray of Mooresville scored a win in his first DINO Trail Run at Indianapolis' Town Run Trail Park. On the course (which was a bit longer than an actual 15k) Poray was running at 6 minutes per mile through the slippery twists, turns, ups, and downs of the course. A second place finish allowed Mike Heffron keep the top spot in the 15k Series. Ryan Hopper was awarded third place. Bloomington resident Jill Vincent took the top women's 15k spot in 1:13:03. Brooke Bryenton finished second, followed by Cathy Casey. Each of these three were in their first DINO Trail Run of the year, allowing Tina Fearnow and Kristy Lippencott to advance into a tie for first in the 15k Women's standings. It was "Jesse James" on the podium for the men's 5k, with James Goddard, James Harris, and Jesse Cacy taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. These three were the only runners to break 20 minutes. Harris' finish lifted him to number one overall in the Series standings. The women's side of the 5k Series is dominated by his soon-to-be wife, Cindy Moll. Moll chalked up another win in the women's score to continue her DINO winning streak that dates back to April 2002. Moll was followed by Que Harbor, who was just 22 seconds behind Moll. Carrie Sheffield rounded out the top three. This magnificent park on the Muscatatuck River lies just over an hour drive south of Indianapolis. Earning some points toward the series might be a bit easier as well. The DINO Trail Run Series races farther from Indianapolis tend to draw smaller crowds, meaning series points are much higher for mid- and back-of-the-pack runners.
