DINO Challenge Festival July 2-4

Attention outdoor / adventure sports enthusiasts: this is the place to be for Independence Day weekend!

The DINO Challenge Festival offers a full schedule of activities including the DINO Trail Run Series, mountain bike rides / races, rope clinics (rappel, zip line, traverse, rock climb, ascend), canoeing, camping, and more! For a schedule of activities, check here: www.dinoseries.com/mtb/schedule/2004/race4.htm

The DINO Trail Run starts at 9 am Saturday, July 3. Registration opens at 7 am. Each participant can select from 5k or 15k distance.

Can you run downhill with reckless abandon? We plan to offer a "bikeless" division for trail runners in the Freerider Challenge (a downhill mountain bike race) beginning at 1 pm! See how fast you can descend a 1/3 mile trail that drops 150 vertical feet!

For primitive camping reserve a site by contacting DINO, or for full hook-up camping call Muscatatuck County Park at 812-346-7115

Visit the webpage listed below for links to on-line and mail in registration as well as full race details. You can save money by registering early!

Town Run Trail Park: Changing of the Guard

A new batch of winners emerged for the June 5 DINO Trail Run. The only prior race winner was Josh Sluder of Shelburn, IN, who won his second consecutive 5k DINO Trail Run. Top spots in the 15k and 5k women's race went to first-time winners.

Melissa Beaver of Bloomington won first for the 5k women, in the absence of Cindy Harris who has been on a winning streak. The 5k women's series lead now goes to Abby Hodges.

In the 15k, Tito Downer of Carmel and Carla Yerkes of Crawfordsville ran to the highest podium honors. Over 220 runners twisted and turned their way through Town Run Trail Park's serpentine course.
