PROTECT YOUR ANKLES ##### MUSCATATUCK PARK OFFERS GREAT RACE SETTING The recently completed trails within North Vernon's Muscatatuck County Park challenged runners with many long and challenging climbs. Those tackling the 15k were required to ascend three large climbs per lap, plus plenty of smaller ups and downs. Adding to the thrill were other interesting features such as the tunnel, and great views of the river... if they weren't too busy watching their footing on the narrow hilside trail! Christopher Sinnett, 15 years old, took top honors in the 5k, followed by Robb Awe and Trent Sinnett. Cindy Moll was back in the action, taking first for the women. Jennifer Bennett and Oksana Mason rounded out the top three. In the 15k, Russ Goodman came across the line first again, with Stephen Mason and Ron Hart second and third. Sarah Huddleston outran Nita Martens by six minutes to win the women's 15k. You can protect yourself from these injuries with just a few easy exercises. 1. Stand barefoot on one foot like a flamingo. Keeping yourself balanced will strengthen the supporting muscles, tendons, and ligaments around your ankle. If it's easy to keep your balance, close your eyes. Do this for one minute per foot, twice per day. 2. Stretch. Bend and twist the foot in all directions and hold a moderate tension for several seconds in each direction. 3. If you have a desk job, do desk exercizes. Simply move your feet around while holding your lower leg still. ##### Brian & Amanda Holzhausen DINO Directors Brian@DINOseries.com (317)308-6449 www.DINOseries.com
