Next DINO Trail Run: August 28
The DINO Trail Run Series travels to eastern Indiana to Doin'it Outdoors on August 28. Located south of Richmond IN, experience a surprisingly challenging route through the
property's numerous ravines. The course starts with a relatively easy, wide trail atop of the ravines then dives toward the creek for the return. After the running race, rent a Doin'it Outdoors kayak and paddle on Whitewater or Brookville Lake.
Discounted early registration is open through Wednesday August 25 at Active.com Or print and mail from www.dinoseries.com/docs/TrailRunEntry2004.htm. Entries must be received by Wednesday August 25. Race-day registration is available as well.
In addition to competing for overall and age group awards, each participant is eligible for random prizes including $300 worth of Athletic Annex gift cards, a pair of Pearl Izumi trail shoes, and a pair of Rudy Project sunglasses. Each entrant also receives Clif Bar product and the thrill of being part of Indiana's one-and-only DINO Trail Run Series.
Stick around, it is a busy day at Doin'it Outdoors!
At noon the DINO Mountain Bike Series race will send bicyclists into the same course as the running race. Spectators are welcome, or give it a try in the Intro division for first-time racers!
Then at 7 pm, the FEARS Sprint Adventure Race begins - a nocturnal adventure race! This race includes a Beginner category for new adventure racers. For information visit Dynamik Adventures
Directions: From US 27 through Liberty, IN (South of Richmond), take Brownsville Rd (look for Scagg's Oil) West until the road forks at Patterson Road (look for tree farm sign). Stay right and take Patterson Road to the first left (Byrd Rd.). Doin' It Outdoors is on the left after about 1.5 miles.
All DINO Trail Run Series races are open to anyone, but those who compete in four or more this year are eligible for season standings as well. With three races remaining in 2004, anyone who has entered one race already can still qualify! Each runner's top five scores through the series are totalled for the standings.
Runners seeking points toward the series will typically find it easier to obtain points at races further from Indianapolis . The August 28 race should be no exception. For More information: http://dinoseries.com/run/schedule/2004/race5.htm |

August 21 - Indianapolis, IN: Heather Hills FunFest 5k - OK, this is NOT a trail run (quite the opposite - a flat and easy 5k road race). However it is directed by Brian & Amanda Holzhausen, and after the race you and
your family can enjoy a great time for free - including free Outback Steakhouse food, door prizes, and activites like moonwalks, speed pitch, live entertainment, crafts for kids, a 22' tall air slide, obstacle course, golf ball driving, and a dunk tank - maybe you can dunk the DINO director!
