A beautiful November day created a nice end to the 2005 Extreme Outfitters' DINO Trail Run Series. Numerous series awards were up for grabs. In addition, many first-time DINO runners joined the fun.

DINO presented 2005 series awards at a lunch banquet to the overall and age group champions in The Extreme Outfitters' DINO Trail Run Series.

The seven-race series ended November 12 with several heated battles for the "Series Champion" titles. The race and the award banquet were held at Indianapolis' SouthEastway Park.

The two closest contests were for the men's titles. Both came down to the final race at SouthEastway. The series consisted of seven races, and the best five scores were totaled for series points.

The 5k men leaders finished with a tied score, and the tiebreaker going to the highest dropped race value. Andy Wallace dropped a third place score, while Lance Nelson dropped a second place, boosting him to top spot for the series. Nelson, a 13 year old, won the final race to make a string of three wins. Wallace started the season strong by winning the first four races.

In the 15k series, Russ Goodman of Bloomington edged Scott Fihma (Noblesville) by one point - translating to just one position in one race finish.

Kristy Lippencott soundly won the women's 15k series. In the 5k women, Brooke Fihma topped Cindy Haris (who has won each series since 2002). Harris absence at the two final races gave Fihma a little breathing room for her quest.

24 of the top overall finishers received a gold-trimmed Pyro Apparel "Champion Singlet". Each age group winner beyond these received a medal.
