COURSE:
The Tecumseh Trail Marathon course provides a scenic and challenging route in Morgan-Monroe and Yellowwood State Forests. A major portion of the 40-mile Tecumseh Trail is used for the race course. Participants will be shuttled by bus from the Yellowwood Lake area to the starting line, near the Morgan-Monroe State Forest office.
The trail surface varies from narrow forest trail to wide fire road, gravel, dirt, and paved roads. Several up and downhills of 200-300’ elevation are along the course, along with many smaller hills. An elevation profile and route maps will be available online.
Participants may run or walk, but must maintain a 17 minute per mile average through the hilly terrain. Participants reaching the north trailhead at Yellowwood Lake (approx. mile 23) after 4:30 pm will be escorted off the route and to the shelter. Please Note: Dogs not permitted on the course.

PRE-RUN OF THE COURSE:
We are also organizing an informal pre-run of the course - half at a time. The first half will be Sunday November 23, 1:00PM. Meet at the midpoint of the course (Intersection of State Highway 45 and Indian Hill Road). - See the race route map at www.DINOseries.com/marathon and look for Mile 13. We will take half of the vehicles to the marathon start line (Morgan-Monroe State Forest office). As runners finish the run, drivers will shuttle them back to the start again to pick up vehicles.
The second half will be Sunday November 30, 1:00PM. Meet at the marathon finish line (Campground shelter in Yellowwood State Forest). We will take half of the vehicles to the 13 mile mark (Highway 45 and Indian Hill Road). As runners finish the run, drivers will shuttle them back to mile 13 again to pick up vehicles.
A head count will be taken at the start of each excursion. Vehicle drivers at the end of the day will need to keep track of the total number of runners transported.
These two runs will be unsupported, and the route will not be marked except with the Tecumseh Trail blazes. Note that the first 2.5 miles (Low Gap Trail) and the last mile (Yellowwood Lake Trail) are not the actual Tecumseh Trail. It is important to bring a copy of the route map (put it in a clear plastic ziplock bag) and ample water / food to support yourself. A compass would also be a wise item to carry. The race organizers cannot be responsible for anyone getting lost or any other problem on the trails!
Hope to see you on one or both of these dates. If you plan to attend, please let us know at
