Race Status Update 12/02/04
All systems are GO for the 2nd Annual Tecumseh Trail Marathon!
There is still room in the race for more entries. Pre-registration is now closed. You may register Friday evening from 6–8PM at Yellowwood SF, or Saturday morning from 7:30-8:30AM. Be advised: we may still need to cut off entries if we exceed the capacity of bus space.

COURSE:
The Tecumseh Trail Marathon course provides a scenic and challenging route in Morgan-Monroe and Yellowwood State Forests. A major portion of the 40-mile Tecumseh Trail is used for the race course. Participants will be shuttled by bus from the Yellowwood Lake area to the starting line, near the Morgan-Monroe State Forest office.

The trail surface varies from narrow forest trail to wide fire road, gravel, dirt, and paved roads. Several up and downhills of 200-300’ elevation are along the course, along with many smaller hills. The total ascent is approximately 3500’. See the elevation profile for more information.

Participants may run or walk, but must maintain a 17 minute per mile average through the hilly terrain. Participants reaching the north trailhead at Yellowwood Lake (approx. mile 23) after 4:30 pm will be escorted off the route and to the shelter. The field will be limited to approximately 500 runners due to the shuttle bus logistics. Please Note: Dogs not permitted on the course.
