The DINO Versailles Half Marathon Trail Run kicks off the activity at the annual 24 Hours of DINO Mountain Bike event. Trail Runners will hit the trail three hours prior to the cyclists. A beautiful 13-mile course takes runners on a variety of terrain. The route begins with some brief rocky sections, then after a climb, offers numerous spectacular vistas overlooking Laughery Creek, and a unique small waterfall crossing on the Cliffside Trail. The final miles of the course are flatter, twisting through a woodland, then a final half-mile long downhill to cruise back to the finish line. Overall, the climbs are moderate and footing is generally solid.

Aid Stations: The course, particulary the first half, is fairly remote. No aid stations are available in the first half of the race. Plan accordingly; bring a water bottle or hydration pack if needed. A fully stocked aid station will be available at about mile 7; including water, Gatorade, bananas, and several choices of sweet or salty snacks. A second aid station will be set up at approximately mile 9, offering water only.

Time Limits: This event is designed for runners who expect to complete the course in three hours or less. Finishers after 3 hours may need to yield to the mountain bike event starting at noon. Finishers after 3.5 hours will be disqualified; the course must be clear for leading mountain bike riders.

Directions: Versailles State Park is along US 50, one mile east of the town of Versailles, Indiana. Within the park, follow signs to the swimming pool and boat ramp areas.  Map
