**WEATHER UPDATE 3/16/18 - Freezing rain is a possibility. We will hold the race as scheduled, so please drive carefully, allow plenty of time, and use your own discretion. However, we have changed the route to avoid the boardwalks and stairs, which could get precarious if icy. We think the majority of the trail will not become icy due to ground temperature.** Icy Weather Alternate Map (note, 15k will start southward, skipping the "prologue" section in yellow.)

One of Indiana's favorite spots for trail running is Mounds State Park. Located in Anderson, is a special jewel in East Central Indiana. Annually, the park hosts DINO and Run the Mounds fall 5 mile race. Mounds offers scenic views of White River and the intriguing ceremonial mounds the park is named for. Mounds is less than an hour drive away from downtown Indianapolis.

Mounds State Park's heated pavilion makes a great gathering place for this early Spring race. Heated restrooms and ample gathering room make a chilly race morning much more pleasant.

The DINO course finds the most challenging terrain available in the park. Nearly all trail, the route manages to hit every possible hill, boardwalk, and stairway available!

The 5k utilizes the northern trails of the park, starting just inside the park gatehouse. Aid stations will be at approximately mile 1 and 2.5.

15k runners will continue southward from the 5k finish and pass the ancient mounds including the Great Mound and Fiddleback Mound, then pass the start line en route to a second lap of the course.
