OFF-ROAD TRIATHLONS

Because dirt is more fun!

WHAT IS A DINO TRIATHLON?

  • DINO's Triathlons are the same format as a sprint to mid-distance triathlon; except the course is all unpaved: including surfaces such as dirt single-track, fire roads, and gravel. The scenery is fantastic, the challenge is refreshing, and the atmosphere is fun! You'll need to use a mountain bike and helmet, but otherwise, you won't need any special equipment to do the race.

  • General Information

  • DINO LLC offers the longest-running XTERRA off-road triathlon in Indiana and one of the longest held in the nation. Our locations are near South Bend and Versailles. Both locations are time-tested venues with great mountain biking trails.

  • In June, try out XTERRA at Potato Creek State Park. Potato Creek State Park offers a beginner-friendly course. This sixth-year venue is convenient to our Chicago and Michigan area athletes, near South Bend Indiana. Participants give the course good reviews for fast and flowy action - come check it out!

  • August 3rd Gravel Triathlon. Indiana's first and only gravel triathlon! Mixing up the growing love of Gravel biking with sprint distance triathlons! Check the page for full details.

  • Each race also offers a canoe / kayak division to challenge the non-swimmer or adventure racer, as well as a duathlon option.  The DINO Triathlon courses are well-marked, but a bit more interesting than the standard road triathlon!
