Saturday is Race Day!
Saturday is the first DINO race of the year! Join us at Anderson's Mounds State Park! All ages and abilities can run or walk the 5k or 15k distance. The DINO Trail Run Series Season Pass covers all six series races for just $125 (5k) or $150 (15k). You'll also get the series t-shirt included for free! But, you'll need to register today to get this price. This year, you won't need to pay a park gate fee - it's covered by your entry! However, make sure to arrive plenty early. Parking areas near the Pavilion race site fill fast and later arrivals will need to park ½ to ½ mile in parking lots further down the park's main road. No matter what this crazy week of weather brings on race morning, there are warm, flush toilets inside the Pavilion and the park office / nature center. Post-race, we'll have light snacks and hot cocoa inside as you recover, socialize, and await the awards presentation. The ROUTE is mostly packed gravel and dirt paths. Some sections are slightly more rugged and narrow. There are a few hills and several flat stretches. 5k runners make a lap around the southern end of the park, going past several of the park's namesake native American ritual mounds. 15k runners continue northward onto a connector section. The southern section is used three times (start, middle, and end) with the connector used between, twice.
