Getting to know your Sponsors- Dr. Charlie Williams

As the Trail Run Series finale at Southwestway Park is right around the corner we wanted to take a moment to highlight our series sponsors this year. Not only is this a small thank you, but an opportunity for you to get to know them and their families a little more. What you may not have realized is most of them are out there on the trails running alongside you! We have formatted a Q & A for them and we will kick things off with one of DINOs longest contributing athletes and sponsors Dr. Charlie Williams! Enjoy!

Q & A

DINO- How long have you been racing with DINO ?  Are you involved in our trail runs, mountain biking, adventure races or triathlon? What was your first race with DINO? What was your most memorable race with DINO and why ?

Dr. Charlie Williams - My first DINO race was 2010 in Avon at the Washington Township Park.  For many years I could only manage 1 race per year but over time my schedule allowed me to attend more.  I initially did only trail runs but the last 4-5 years I've tried to branch out and do triathlons and I even did the Gravel Grovel once.

My most memorable race with DINO is any of them when I am able to bring my family and share the experience with them.

DINO- What keeps you coming back to DINO year after year?

Dr. Charlie Williams - It's the shared experience of exercising in nature which, to me, is as pure as it comes.  And I mention bringing my family to the runs and how much I love that but there's also a definite family atmosphere of familiarity of the regular DINO patrons.  And then when there's a newbie trying to help them experience the magic that we all feel with the DINO experience.

DINO- Have you ever raced the series, either Mountain bike or run?  Tell us about your series experience and the way it challenged you during that particular year of racing.

Dr. Charlie Williams - Now that I can manage my schedule to allow more than one race per year I always race the trail run series.  It's fun to see the points fluxing up or down for all of the participants.

DINO - Tell us about your family's involvement with DINO. Do they also participate as athletes or are they primarily supporting you at the start/finish line?

Dr. Charlie Williams - All of my family comes to at least some of the events as participants.  We're all happy with the effort we put in... especially when we're done!

DINO- You have taken your personal passion for endurance racing and chosen to expand that by becoming key financial sponsors for DINO. Tell us more about this decision. What is your driving force?  What do you hope will ultimately come from your sponsorship/partnership with DINO?

Dr. Charlie Williams - I'm just grateful to be able to support something that I am passionate about.  I don't expect anything to come of my sponsorship other than being able to continue with the great sport of exercise in nature in whatever form may come.

DINO - If you could encourage one person today, who doubts their athleticism and ability to race, what would you say to them?

Dr. Charlie Williams - Remember, you're only racing yourself.  So get out there and enjoy the experience.

Thank you Charlie, from team DINO, our families and on behalf of the many DINO athletes like yourself you are helping support in this beloved sport!

HAPPY TRAILS!

Sponsors like Dr. Williams are the backbone of community sports, and it's great to see the series highlighting their contributions. Getting a sponsor involved is often about showcasing mutual benefits, and a professional presentation goes a long way in those conversations. When teams or leagues put together sponsor packets or promotional materials, having a cohesive brand identity helps demonstrate that the organization is well-run and worthy of investment. Tools like a comprehensive logo template library can make that process much easier for volunteer-run clubs. Thanks for sharing his story.

I usually play browser games for a few minutes, but Drive Mad kept me engaged much longer. The balance between frustration and satisfaction feels just right.
