Gravel Grovel's Short Course: Call it a MTB Race?
If you're not up for the 100k challenge that Gravel Grovel dishes out, try the 24-mile option. It's roughly 6 miles each of singletrack, doubletrack, gravel road, and pavement. It's classic, old-school mountain biking, using part of Nebo Ridge Trail and Combs "Road".
The Gravel Grovel is just over a week from now (11/25), come join us at Story Inn for a great ride and fun times as you burn off some Thanksgiving calories!
The shorter Gravel Grovel route sounds like a great balance for riders who want the atmosphere and challenge of the event without committing to the full 100k distance. Mixing singletrack, gravel, pavement, and old-school mountain biking sections probably keeps the ride feeling varied and unpredictable the whole way through. Events like this are fun because they combine endurance with constant adaptation to changing terrain, which honestly gives me the same feeling as playing Slope Rider, where momentum, balance, and reacting smoothly to every surface are what make the experience satisfying.
